French manufacturer Alstom has announced a more than €150 million investment plan to expand production at its French plants. This initiative seeks to respond to the growing global demand for high-speed trains, especially the Avelia Horizon model.
The main actions include creating a new assembly line at the Valenciennes Petite-Forêt plant, which will require an investment of more than 30 million euros.
In addition, production capacity will be doubled at the La Rochelle plant. At the same time, other sites such as Belfort and Le Creusot will receive technological upgrades such as robotisation and advanced welding.
The plan also envisages hiring at least 1,000 new employees in France during 2025, creating or securing more than 2,500 additional jobs alongside its suppliers.
Frédéric Wiscart, President of Alstom France, stressed that this programme will strengthen the group’s industrial base through innovative and sustainable technologies.
With this strategic move, Alstom seeks to consolidate its leadership in the international rail market and ensure it meets its current commitments.
