Spanish railway slowly recovers from the blackout

.

The blackout of 28 April 2025, which affected the entire Iberian Peninsula, suspended all railway services in Spain except SFM and Metrotenerife.

Although almost all electricity supply has been restored, rail networks, the country’s primary consumers, struggle to return to normal.

Regarding the RFIG, not a single train is currently running in Galicia, while in other regions, most services have been resumed.

In Cercanías, the Cartagena-Los Nietos, Malaga, Murcia/Alicante, and Zaragoza hubs have suspended services, while others (such as Madrid and Catalonia) are running limited services, which are causing congestion.

All services on the metro and tram networks are running relatively normally, except for interruptions on Metrovalencia and delays on the Trambahía.
