Spain’s Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has formed a working group to accelerate investment in the Atlantic Corridor in Galicia. The Secretary of State, José Antonio Santano, chaired the first meeting together with the commissioner of the Atlantic Corridor, José Antonio Sebastián, with the participation of economic and social agents and representatives of other administrations.
This group, coordinated by the Atlantic Corridor Commissioner, will hold regular meetings to report on progress on the infrastructure of the core network (horizon 2030) and the overall network (horizon 2050).
In addition, a communication channel on new freight traffic has been set up for the business community. The Master Plan for the Atlantic Corridor in Galicia foresees an investment of 4,561 million euros until 2030.
Among the projects highlighted are the connection of the outer harbour of A Coruña, improvements in railway connections and actions in airports and railways. Remodelling of intermodal stations in the main Galician cities is also envisaged.
