Renfe’s Digital Competence Centres (CCD), managed by LogiRail, have generated 515 direct jobs and 155 indirect jobs since their creation in 2020.
The CCDs are part of Renfe’s digital transformation strategy and aim to be a driving force for employment in areas with low population density. The company has the following 7 centres:
- Robotics&IA – Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real)
- Application Management – Miranda de Ebro (Burgos)
- Infrastructure Management – Teruel (Teruel)
- Customer care – Linares (Jaén)
- Mobility as a Service – Mérida (Badajoz)
- Cibersecurity – Monforte de Lemos (Lugo)
- Quality Assurance and Testing- Portbou (Gerona).
Their objective is to internalise services and accelerate the adoption of key technologies in the railway liberalisation scenario. These centres have had a significant impact on local employment, reducing unemployment rates by between 0.5 and 1 point in the localities where they operate.
In addition, they have opted for young, female talent, with an average age of 30 and 38% of the workforce being women.
Training is a fundamental pillar of the CCD, offering not only training to its employees, but also free courses for people outside the company, including groups at risk of social exclusion.
