Renfe presented its new Sustainability Master Plan during the Sustainability Action Week organised by the International Union of Railways (UIC) in Paris, where it participates as a Silver Sponsor. This plan reinforces Renfe’s public service vocation and seeks to consolidate it as a leader in sustainable mobility, promoting social, economic and environmental development.
In the words of Adrián Fernández, Renfe’s Director of Sustainability and Energy Efficiency, “This new Plan is the roadmap around which the sustainability strategy of the entire Renfe Group is articulated, containing a common vision for the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) approach and which drives the company’s commitment in these areas”.
The plan is structured in 211 concrete actions, focusing on three axes:
- Environmental, to achieve carbon neutrality.
- Social, fostering an inclusive and safe working environment.
- Governance, emphasising ethical and transparent management.
Renfe actively participates in Action Week, exchanging ideas and generating synergies in workshops on sustainable tourism and sustainability reporting.
