Ocaña Town Council and the company Parque Industrial Ocaña-Norte S.L. have signed a protocol of intentions to promote the construction of a railway siding connecting the Aranjuez-Tarancón line with the new Ocaña-Norte Industrial Park.
This logistics-industrial development of more than one million square metres could become the most extensive intermodal platform in Castilla-La Mancha.
The park’s strategic location, surrounded by important communication routes such as the A-4, A-40, AP-4, and AP-36, together with its intermodal potential and proximity to Madrid, makes it ideal for the reception and distribution of goods, especially from the Port of Valencia.
The proposed rail link would enhance transport efficiency by facilitating intermodality between rail and road.
This project would boost the region’s economic development and contribute to the decarbonisation of transport by shifting freight from road to rail, reducing operating costs, and improving sustainability.
According to the promoters, Ocaña could become a central point of the Atlantic and Mediterranean corridors, strengthening its position in the European transport network.
