The Head of the Buenos Aires Government, Jorge Macri, presented the construction of the underground Line F, the first new line to be built in 80 years. The project is part of the so-called Agenda 2025 “Buenos Aires First”.
Line F of the Buenos Aires underground will connect the neighbourhoods of Barracas in the south and Palermo in the north. It will be 9 kilometres long and have 11 stations. It will connect with line B at Callao—Maestro Alfredo Bravo, with line C at Constitución, with line D at Plaza Italia and Callao, and with line E at San Juan.

Construction will be carried out in two stages. The first will involve an investment of 1,050 million dollars (944 million euros at the exchange rate) and is expected to come into service in 2031 to carry more than 300,000 passengers a day. It will be 5 km long and connect Constitución with Callao (line D).
Along with the construction of the Subway line F, Macri also announced the creation of the TramBus, an electric bus system connecting neighbourhoods in the north and south of the city.
