The Parla Norte station will open at the end of the year or early 2026

.

The mayor of Parla, Ramón Jurado, has announced a delay in the forecasts for the inauguration of the new Cercanías station, Parla Norte. The works, initially scheduled for completion after the summer of 2025, will be finished between October and November. This means its opening will be postponed until the end of 2025 or early 2026 after testing and approval by the AESF (the Spanish ERA).

Jurado stressed in an interview that work is progressing well and that the project will transform the city. In addition to the station, it includes two park-and-ride car parks, a new tram station, a cycle lane and the widening of the tram bridge for buses, with a total investment of 25 million euros in coordination with the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.

However, the mayor criticised the lack of progress made by the Community of Madrid in widening the M-408 road, which is essential to absorb the traffic generated by the new infrastructure. Jurado warned that, without these works, it might be necessary to limit the park-and-ride car park’s use to the Parla residents.
