Stadler Signalling to modernise 2 Jura Railway stations

.

Stadler Signalling and Chemins de fer du Jura (CJ) have signed a 4.3 million Swiss franc contract to renew the signalling systems at the Tavannes and Orange stations. This agreement, signed on 8 January 2025, is part of CJ’s project to modernise half of its Tavannes-Le Noirmont line by 2027.

The modernisation will include the installation of state-of-the-art electronic interlockings, which will improve the safety and punctuality of railway operations. Stadler will deploy their Eurolocking system.

This project adds to the investments that CJ, the federal government, and the cantons make annually to modernise the railway network. In 2019, Stadler received an order to modernise the interlockings at Tramelan station.

Marc Trippel, CEO of Stadler Signalling, expressed his satisfaction with the continued collaboration with FT, highlighting Stadler’s contribution to the modernisation of rail transport in the region.

Jean-Frédéric Python, director of CJ, stressed the importance of having a reliable and close partner like Stadler to minimise service disruptions and offer pleasant, reliable, and sustainable transport.
