Adif has completed reorganising its management structure, reducing the number of general directorates from nine to six, three of a corporate nature and three operational. Pedro Marco de la Peña, Adif’s president, has opted for people with extensive experience in the sector and in the company.
According to the company, when announcing the change, Adif seeks to improve railway management planning by prioritising passengers and citizens in decision-making.
The new appointments are:
- Director General of Planning, Projects and Construction: Luis Llamas Martínez. He has been in the railway sector since 2000 and has led international projects such as the Haramain in Saudi Arabia. He is also the General Manager of Adif Alta Velocidad.
- General Manager of Operations and Exploitation: Raúl Míguez Bailo. Civil Engineer, he has been with Adif since 2004, except when he was Head of Cabinet of Isabel Pardo de Vera during her time at SETMA.
- General Manager of Business and Clients: Juan Pablo Villanueva Beltramini. General Manager of Adif Alta Velocidad since August 2018, he is a Civil Engineer and has been linked to adif since September 2004.
Positions to be maintained:
- General Manager of People Management, Strategy and Security: Concepción Casillas Martín. A graduate of Law, she is a specialist in labour law. She joined Renfe in 1996 and subsequently moved to Adif. Until now, she has been the general director of people management, and in addition to continuing, she is expanding her responsibilities.
- Chief Financial Officer, Purchasing and Systems: Manuel Martínez Cepeda. He has been the director of commercial operations at Adif since March 1991, when he joined Renfe. This is the position with the most experience in the sector.
- General Secretary: Irene Bonet Tous. She is the only person who remains in her position, which she has held since March 2024, when she joined Adif. A Law and Business Administration and Management graduate from Icade and a state lawyer, she has had a long career in the General State Administration.
